I was recently lucky enough to interview the one and only talented miss Allison Torneros(paperboogie). The upcoming native Bay Area artist has one of the most unique and talented skills i've seen, and has been seen in a couple of music videos. She currently resides in LA, working on her designs and paintings which can be seen on her blogspot (Paintbyword). Her style, technique, personality and passion for her work is incorperated deep into her designs. Her self portrait is probably one of the best in modern day paintings. Q:When did you started your artwork?
A:Been drawing since i was a wee little bebeh. But i started showing my work when i was 18.

Q:what are your weapons of choice?
A:a paintbrush, a pencil, and my wacom tablet.

Q: DO you prefer the bay or LA?
A:as a place to live -- the bay
as a place to party -- LA

Q:what would you like to do for a living?
A: I really like what I'm doing for a living now, which is freelance design and selling art. But if I wanted to make even bigger bucks i would love to eventually be an art or creative director for a big company

Q:have you ever ghost ride the whip?
A:No, that is dangerous and just plain negligent.

Q:most embarrasing moment during an art event.
A:Never had one, yet

Q:3 favorite place to shop?
A:I never really shop. But when i do i like shopping on Melrose.

A:die

Q:last time you got into deep trouble?
A:I'm a good girl. Who would i get in trouble with? I answer to nobody.

A:both

Q:if paperboogie had a child by cupcake, what would you name it?
A:Mistake

Q:3 top songs you enjoy
A:Right now i really like Misery Business by Paramore. Can't Tell me Nothing by Kanye. And Amy Winehouse is killin it, everything she does is gold.

Q:3 top things to do on your spare time
A:I have spare time? I wish. When i do have spare time though..
-chill out on my couch
-go to the gym
-party like a rock star

Q:what are some things you like to collect
A:I don't collect anything because they just end up collecting dust. Less is more with me.

Q: how cool are you?
A:I'm not that sure. let me get back to you when i ask somebody.

Q:And last but not least, the viewers of the incredible bakery would like to know what new projects paperboogie is currently workin on?
A:Paintbyword.com is actually going to go back up THIS week after a long long hiatus (because I was busy on other projects). Currently doing some design work with a couple different musicians. I'm in a group show in Georgia coming up in October called the Sketchbook Project. And I've got a bunch of different shows lined up for the next year, a few of them at Gallery1988 LA.

A:No, thanks I think I'm done.

James Jean

On my search for creative artwork that is appealing and unique instead of random bullshit, I stumbled upon the great artist James Jean(JJean). A creative artist that earned his education in the School of Visual Arts in New York, his work have been displayed and published almost everywehre from NIKE, Rolling Stones, and ESPN to name a few. He has recently earned a deal with Dior and is currently working on a new project with them. Check out his website and his new book called Process Recess 2.

Vegas part 2

Hella late but better now then never right? so now i will update everday or atleast every other day during my breaks. So yes do check the bakery and spread the news that I'm starting to update again. You never know people, you might be special enough to appear on it.
